Usain Bolt clocks 9.86 seconds in South Korea
Usain Bolt ran his way to victory in his first major meet of the season cruising to 100m victory at the IAAF World Challenge in Daegu, South Korea. Usain Bolt barely broke sweat as he sauntered home in 9.86 seconds, easing down the gears but still finishing ahead Michael Frater and Mike Rodgers, second and third respectively, to clock the fastest legal time in the world this year. The meet served as a warm-up to Bolt's Diamond League debut on Sunday in Shanghai, where he will compete over 200m, while later in the season he is due to clash with Asafa Powell and Tyson Gay.
Warrant signed for Dudus’ Arrest
A warrant for the arrest of Tivoli Gardens strongman, Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke was signed this morning by a Resident Magistrate.The warrant gives the police Fugitive Apprehension Team the power to collar Coke who is wanted in the United States on drug and gun running charges. Mad Cobra House Shot Up!
Reports from the Constabulary News Network, (CNN), confirm that the house of dancehall deejay Mad Cobra, in Portmore, St. Catherine, was attacked and shot up late last night. The deejay was home at the time of the attack but no one was injured. There is speculation that last night’s attack is related to the incident last week, where Cobra was shot and injured by unknown assailants who were reportedly offended because the deejay shine his car lights on them.

7-year-old Girl Sleeping Shot By Police
Aiyana Jones, a 7 year-old girl who was sound asleep in the sofa of their family apartment’s living was shot dead by a Detroit Police who was looking for a homicide suspect. The police came busting through the door and an officials gun went off hitting Aiyana Jones in the neck. Aiyana Jones’ father told Detroit News that he just tucked in Aiyana covering her with her favorite Disney blanket and then went to bed early. After a while he heard a flash grenade and the a gunshot went off. He then quickly rushed to the living room and then the police forced him to ground with his face on Aiyana Jones blood. O’Neil Edwards Shooting Suspect Found Dead, Another In Custody
One of the main suspect in the shooting of Voicemail artist O’Neil Edwards, was found dead in the Chancery Hall community this afternoon, Police said the unidentified man managed to escape checkpoints set up to nab him several hours earlier. Edwards’ cellular phone was found in the dead man’s possession. Meanwhile a second suspect was picked up by the Manchester Police in that parish last night and is being transported to Kingston where he will be questioned. Oniel Edwards is still critical condition and he remains hospitalised.
Jamaica Government Payed US$400,000 To Try To Save Dudus.
Last fall, the blue-chip law firm of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips signed a $400,000 contract to lobby on behalf of the government of Jamaica, spending the next several months talking with the White House and other administration officials about why the United States should not extradite an accused Kingston drug kingpin Christopher 'Dudus' Coke. Ewart "Mad Cobra" Brown was shot and injured tonight in the Braeton Phase 1 Community, Portmore Jamaica. It is said that Mad Cobra and a group of men had an dispute,which result in the deejay being shot. Oneil From Voicemail Shot & Injured
Oneil Edwards, one-third of the popular dancehall group, Voicemail, was reportedly shot multiple times at the gate to his house in Duhaney Park, Kingston, early this morning, and is now undergoing critical surgery at the Kingston Public Hospital. Unconfirmed reports indicate that robbery was the motive, and that he was shot at least once in the head.Residents say two gunmen were seen running away from the scene. Edwards was found lying on his back in a pool of blood in his backyard. He was shot at least seven times.Voicemail consist of 3 members: Oniel Edwards, Craig Jackson and Kevin Blaire. Jamaica paraplegic gets $230K for police shooting.
Jamaica (AP) A Jamaica man who was shot by police and became a paraplegic has been awarded $230,000 in compensation 16 years after the incident. Michael Llewellyn was shot in the back in 1994 when he tried to escape a beating by police at his house. His right leg was amputated below the knee as a result, and he was left unable use the remaining leg. Attorney Sylvan Edwards said Friday that Llewellyn has not been able to work since then. A Supreme Court judge ordered the compensation Thursday. Jamaica has one of the highest rates of police killings in the Western Hemisphere, according report released last year by Amnesty International.
Jamaica calls in help to cut soaring murder rate
The head of Scotland Yard has travelled to Jamaica as senior officers on the island struggle to curb a spiralling murder rate. Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Paul Stephenson is undertaking a five-day visit organised by the University of the West Indies. Sir Paul will be keen to share the success of his colleagues solving murders and suppressing violent crime. And he was also expected to discuss work to bring down Jamaican drug gangs operating between their homeland and London. The Jamaica Constabulary Force is on a recruitment drive for detectives as part of a modernising shake-up.
Ponzi Scheme Allegedly Targeted Jamaican-Americans
FORT LAUDERDALE (CN) - A man says he lost $2.6 million in a "huge Ponzi scheme named OLINT" that targeted Jamaican Americans. He claims the scam was so lucrative that one of its operators, Joseph Issa, "used the money to purchase the Shell Oil facility in Jamaica for $80 million." Robert Anderson sued five people and three organizations in Broward County Court: Jared Martinez, David Smith, Wayne Smith, Tracy-Ann Smith, OLINT, Joseph Issa, USIMO, and Superclubs. Anderson claims he and his investors group put $2.6 million in OLINT, through USIMO, which is or was controlled by Issa. Real Madrid opens school for Jamaican kids
Jamaica (AP) A foundation for football's Real Madrid has opened a sports academy in northern Jamaica. The Real Madrid Foundation held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new academy in Montego Bay on Monday. Former Madrid player and current official Emilio Butragueno attended. Avalon Arscott, the spokeswoman for the Spanish Embassy in Jamaica, said on Tuesday that local youngsters from some of the area's poorest communities will attend the school. Arscott says students will be taught athletics and "social integration" by staff led by former Jamaica goalkeeper Aaron Lawrence.

Ninja Man, who along with his son and two other men are charged with murder, will return to the Home Circuit Court today as the trial continues. Ninja Man, whose real name is Desmond Ballentine, along with his son Janeil, Dennis Clayton and Seymour Samuels, have been jointly charged with the murder of Robert Johnson, who was shot and killed in Tower Hill, St Andrew last year.
