Jamaica police have charged three men with the murder of attorney at law, Clover Graham. Owen Patterson, 23, Simeon Lewis, 36 and Shamone Campbell, 18, all from Gordon Pen in St Catherine were arrested late Friday evening.

On August 18, Mrs. Graham drove to her home to Eltham View in St. Catherine and on entering her the men abducted her. She was reportedly taken away in her silver Honda Aria motorcar. The car was found abandoned along Waltham Park Road about 9 p.m. the same day.

Jamaica's top police commander Owen Ellington, on Tuesday condemned a recent surge of killings by vigilante mobs in Jamaica, reminding citizens that taking the law into their own hands is a serious crime.

Twenty-five years after his murder, Jamaica's government on Monday honored the contributions of reggae artiste and songwriter Peter Tosh.

Tosh's daughter Niambe, an educator from Boston, Massachusetts, received the post death "order of merit" - Jamaica's third highest honor - on behalf of her late father during an annual national awards ceremony on the lawns of King's House, the residence of Jamaica's governor general.

The two houses of Jamaica's Parliament held a special joint sitting last week Tuesday to honor former Prime Minister Edward Seaga, a major player in national politics for decades and the only survivor of the leaders who drafted the constitution when the Caribbean island gained independence from Britain in 1962.
