The first Annual Clarendon Music Awards is the brainchild of David Anderson of Temperature’s Entertainment Limited. This organisation is known for The High School Link-Up Showcase that links past students from all high schools in Jamaica. The Clarendon Music Awards will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 5:00 pm at the Quarry, Bustamante High Way in May Pen, Clarendon. The music awards show will also recognise legendary reggae artiste Derrick Morgan, the first artiste to have spots one to seven on national pop charts simultaneously as the first recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award. The event also features award presentations, live performances, a VIP reception and dinner.

Rap mogul Master P. will host an event during Grammy week honoring late R&B singer Teena Marie, in hopes of raising awareness about health related issues, whether its diabetes, high blood pressure or obesity. Master P. and his son Romeo are rallying celebrities to support Michelle Obama’s anti-obesity campaign via his Move With Music organization, which is dedicated to fighting child obesity. Master P. and his son will host an event on February 11th in Los Angeles, which is sponsored by ME Entertainment Network, RTC Media Group and Urban Born Foundation.

Mavado had to cancel this year's staging of his annual birthday bash of the LIME Real McKoy event that was scheduled for last night. Mavado has also postponed his weekly show Stulla Wednesdays which was normally held at the Quad nightclub. The unveiling of the poster also confirmed that Mavado and Vybz Kartel will be a no-show at the event, set for December 26, 2010 at Jamworld, in Portmore, St Catherine.
