Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden has been buried at sea. Islamic practice and tradition calls for the body to be buried within 24 hours.

A small team of U.S. Navy Seals killed bin Laden Sunday in Abbottabad, Pakistan, in a suburb about 35 miles north of Islamabad, in a helicopter assault on the massive, heavily secured compound where he had been hiding. The U.S. team took custody of bin Laden's body and confirmed his identity
