Jamaican on bomb scare charges in New Zealand.

WELLINGTON, New Zealand, January 11, 2010 - A Jamaican man
who created a bomb scare in New Zealand's capital last month is now
being accused of attempted robbery and threatening to kill a bank
employee and her family.

Paul Martin Williams was previously accused of threatening to do an act
likely to cause major property damage, "namely to blow up the bank" on
December 9th. Now he has been slapped with three additional counts - two
separate charges of threatening to kill a bank employee and her family by
letter, and a charge of using a threat to demand $100,000 with intent to
steal it.

New Zealand's The Dominion Post publication quoted a senior detective as
saying that, if convicted, Williams was likely to serve jail time in New Zealand
rather than be sent back to Jamaica. He could spend up to 20 years in prison
if found guilty of all the charges.

Police allege that Williams handed a note to a passerby to give to a teller at
the National Bank. The note suggested there was bomb in the building that
would go off within minutes.

The bank and some adjacent buildings were evacuated and surrounding
streets cordoned off for three and a half hours, but no bomb was ever
found.

Williams was caught on CCTV and the image published in effort to get the
public to assist in locating him.

He was arrested by Australian Federal Police on December 17th at Sydney
Airport where he had planned to take a connecting flight to Canada.

Williams, who was in the country on a work visa, appeared in court after his
extradition last week.
