Police brought Usain Bolt’s 9.58 SuperParty at Richmond Estate in the parish of St. Ann to an abrupt end early Sunday morning.

International entertainers The Dream and Ludacris, along with Elephant Man, Etana, Ding Dong, Voicemail, Cherine Anderson, Shady Squad among others gave the thousands that turned out a lot to shout and dance about.

Immediately after Tony Matterhorn ended his performance, Richie B, the MC, advised patrons that the Police, who had maintained a strong presence throughout, had ordered that the event should be brought to an immediate end.

When Richie B announced that they were advised to close the show, the crowd started to shout Gaza!!!, Gaza!!!, Gaza!!! … while feature artiste Vybz Kartel was backstage, and still to come on, with Bolt trying to get the police to give them a chance.

Despite a brief meeting, Bolt and his entourage could not convince the Police high command to afford them some extra time, which promoted one male patron to say “Give dem back the ambassador status…”

Bolt, who is a big supporter of the Gaza leader Vybz Kartel, was unhappy with the way the party ended, and was quick to apologise to the patrons, saying he couldn’t do anything about the stoppage.

“Yow people … mi a apologize fi dis, a no my fault,” he said.

“De police dem sey dem hafi turn it off and mi no know why dem a do dat,” he continued.

“Mi cant do anything because di police dem a Gwan a way … it hurt me to si dem a gwan so… but, thanks for coming out,” he said.

Bolt, who reminded the patrons that “a Gaza mi sey”, was joined on stage by Kartel, who was taken there by a senior police officer to prove he was there ready to perform.

It seems like the police is really enforcing, that if they don't declare peace the party will not continue.
